Responsibility:

• Daily rounds including water chemistry, equipment readings, and preventative maintenance.
• Oversees all station operations, including startup, shutdown, inspection, routine chemical testing, all switching and tagging, equipment trouble-shooting, writes, reviews, and revises operating and related procedures.
• Ensures that all site safety and environmental requirements and procedures are properly implemented and takes corrective actions as necessary.
• Assists the CRO in day to day operations, plant maintenance, and training.
• Performs daily task related to training and qualifying on additional plant equipment.
• Assists in the orientation, training, development, performance evaluation, selection process for new employees and promotions, and assures high work quality of O&M Technicians.
• Available to work rotating shift schedules, performs tasks that require physical exertion and is expected to occasionally respond to off-hour call-ins when required.
• Establishes and maintains high personal and professional standards of safety and environmental conscientiousness and compliance.

• Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English and perform mathematical calculations. High school or vocational school diploma required. Technical training and demonstrated ability to perform successfully in similar work environments preferred.
• Knowledge of power plant safety policies and procedures, especially in the areas of high-energy systems, chemical handling, heavy equipment, rotating machinery, confined spaces, incipient fire suppression, and first aid.
• Demonstrated knowledge regarding operation of valves, switches, controls, keyboards and other devices associated with power plants.
